Indian Butter Chicken in a crock pot?
Here is an easy butter chicken recipe I found on allrecipes.com. Could someone convert this exact recipe into a crock pot recipe. For example, I know there are certain crock pot rules as in when you add the cream…..etc.
1 cup butter, divided
1 onion, minced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 cups heavy cream
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized chunks
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons tandoori masala
I would follow the first persons advice, but only use half of the cream in the beginning as it will cook down and add some in the last 30-45 minutes before serving, and the same with the butter, I am a former chef and have made something similar, a bit more dietetic and I use a cashew nut paste also instead of all the cream.
Marinade the chicken overnight, start the sauce, add the browned chicken and onions from a pan rinse out the goodies, cook it on low and when you come home before serving add the rest of the cream or a nut paste is nice, and stir in the butter, I would turn it “off” and just stir it in before you eat so the butter does not split and you have a greasy mess on top.
